Lesley Moser joined Northwestern as an assistant director of sports performance in September of 2015. Moser works primarily with women’s basketball and women’s tennis. She also oversees the training of the men’s and women’s swimming & diving programs.
Before joining the sports performance staff at Northwestern, Moser was at Stanford University from 2009-15. She handled all the performance development for women’s lacrosse, field hockey, men’s tennis, women’s swimming and diving, and women’s soccer, helping the soccer team win their first NCAA Championship in 2011. Prior to Stanford, she taught speed development and change of direction at Raleigh Orthopaedic Athletic Performance Center.
Moser attended Mississippi State University, earning her undergraduate degree in accounting and graduate degree in kinesiology. While at Mississippi State, she was a graduate assistant at the recreational center and interned in the Athletics Department. During the last year of her Masters program, she interned at Athletes’ Performance in Gulf Breeze, Florida. There she gained valuable knowledge in sports performance working with professional, college and college prep athletes.
Moser is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association. She is also a member of the National Academy of Sports Medicine where she holds certifications as a Performance Enhancement Specialist and a Corrective Exercise Specialist. Other certifications she holds are Functional Movement Screen, International Society of Sports Nutrition and American Heart Association (CPR, First Aid, AED).
